ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Meet Amy Delson

meet the founder

Amy Delson is an NYC-based jewelry designer, fabricator, master upcycler, and the creative force behind Amy Delson Jewelry (ADJ). Inspired by a lifelong obsession with collecting and reworking talismans, Amy launched ADJ in 2012 after studying advanced fabrication techniques at 92Y School of the Arts and with BG Art Jewelry Atelier in NYC's Jewelry District. At the Fashion Institute of Technology, Amy expanded her skill set to include enamel work.

Amy cultivated her artistry and love of jewelry as a young girl, dancing around in treasures from her mother's jewelry box. Each original piece of ADJ is designed and handmade with love in NYC, which includes soldering, fusing, forging, wax carving, texturing, beading, finishing and stone setting. Collections include bracelets, cuffs, earrings, necklaces, headdresses, necklaces and rings, inspired by Art Nouveau, Art Deco and the old and new architecture of Amy's beloved New York City. She is passionate about recycling, reducing waste, and working with local artisans for any production beyond what she makes herself.

Amy Delson Jewelry has been featured at New York Fashion Week and showcased with runway collections from Project Runway’s Althea Harper and Stephen Goudeau. Amy is a proud affiliate of Made in NYC and is an active member of the Women's Jewelry Association and the Accessories Council. Amy supports Save a Child’s Heart and Nomi Network, among other philanthropic causes. Amy and her husband Daniel work and live in Manhattan with their two sons, Samson and Helix.

More background
Amy's creativity developed studying and performing theater and multiple dance styles at Duke University in Durham, N.C. and abroad at the University of Bristol, England. As a former journalist, she was influenced by her interviewees including Kate Spade and the late Oscar de la Renta. Amy published research on Loïe Fuller and the Futurist Movement in Dance Chronicle. Her fascination with the shape of energy in movement translates into the grace and proportion of the jewelry she now crafts.
As a former luxury real estate marketer, her eye for architecture and design and passionate understanding of lifestyle and culture are key attributes incorporated into her jewelry aesthetic.
